Reaching out- God blessed us with a gorgeous fall day. A special thank you to the Kaisers for spearheading a weekend of family fun activities at the Faith n Blue trunk or treat and then the Family fall fest on Sunday. We extend a HUGE thank you for all who helped by donating, volunteering, praying, supporting and sharing the day with so many.  Keep the love of Jesus shining!

 “It’s all about JESUS!” That’s what Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes are all about- reaching children across the world with the Good News of Jesus! Did you know that over 244 million children worldwide have heard the Gospel through shoebox gifts and 52 million have been discipled through The Greatest Journey? Praise God! We will be packing shoeboxes on November 15th. Donations are being collected for them. Visit samaritanspurse.org/occ for gift ideas or check the list posted in the narthex. “Wow” gifts are still needed. Please pray for the children in need will have open hearts to receive God’s love.

Our next Little Disciples get together will be on October 19 at 9:30am here at Prince of Peace. Talk with Pastor Hinojosa if you have any questions or would like more information about this group!

Coming up on October 30 join us at 5pm for a FREE dinner and a movie. This month’s feature is Green and Gold.  The story of a struggling family farmer who wagers everything on a high-stakes Championship bet, while his granddaughter's musical ambitions could be their ticket to a new beginning.  It is sure to please.  Invite your friends and join us!

Next Month- on November 8 we will be having our next Voters’ meeting immediately following worship. Please plan to join us for this important meeting.  Sunday School will still be held for the kids!  Talk with Pastor Hinojosa if you have any questions.

October 25—Reformation Day Celebration Christ Our Savior is gearing up for their annual Reformation Day Celebration! Tune up your voices for “A Mighty Fortress is Our God” and break out your brightest red sweaters to remember the reforms that Martin Luther began in the church. To celebrate, the CoS Sunday schedule will change on October 25 to include a festival service at 3pm to honor Reformation Day. Following the 3pm service they will host a meal and time for fellowship in their gym. All are welcome. There is no cost and no need to pre-register.

November 7—Craft & Vendor Fair Support the youth at Christ Our Savior by shopping the Annual Craft and Vendor Show! The show will be held at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 14175 Farmington Rd. Livonia. on Sat, Nov 7, from 10am to 3pm. A $2 entry fee supports their youth ministry and gives you access to awesome local crafters, home party vendors, youth bake sale, door prizes, treasure map prizes, hot lunch and concessions. October 23—Forever Young: Dakota Inn The Forever Young group is going to celebrate Oktoberfest at the Dakota Inn (17324 John R St, Detroit)! On Friday, October 23 the group will leave Christ Our Savior by bus at 5pm and arrive back at 9pm. The bus ticket is $13/person for round trip transportation from Christ Our Savior. 30 DAYS OF PRAYER - Throughout 2027, the Michigan District, LCMS will focus on prayer. A 30-day prayer guide was created in preparation for the 2027 Ministry Summit in February, but it can be used at any time, as there are no dates. To request your downloadable guide, click here

November 14—Surviving the Holidays Seminar Surviving the Holidays seminar for people facing the holidays after a loved one’s death will be held Sat, Nov 14, from 9am-noon in rooms 5 & 6 at Christ Our Savior. Facilitated by Jill Reinert and the GriefShare team, the seminar features practical suggestions and encouragement through video interviews with counselors, grief experts, & other people who have experienced the holidays after their loved one’s death. Topics to be discussed include dealing with hard-hitting emotions, what to do about traditions, how to survive social events, and where to find comfort & strength. November 19—Forever Young: Winter at the Train Station Get ready for the holiday season at the historic Detroit Train Station! Forever Young is organizing a trip for $70/person, which includes a guided tour provided by Detroit Historical Tours, family-style lunch at Roman Village Cucina Italiana (9924 Dix Ave, Dearborn), and round-trip bus transportation from Christ Our Savior parking lot. Women of our congregation are invited for the 2027 Refresh Women’s Retreat at Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Brighton on Saturday, January 23, 2027. We are excited to welcome Gina Kell Spehn as our keynote speaker. Gina is a New York Times bestselling author of The Color of Rain, which was adapted into a Hallmark Original movie. She is an inspirational Christian speaker and co-founder and president of New Day Foundation for Families, a Michigan nonprofit supporting cancer patients and their families. Gina will share a message of Hope in the Waiting. We all experience seasons of waiting—for answers, healing, direction, change, or prayers to be answered. Gina will encourage us to trust that God is at work even in those difficult seasons, strengthening our faith, growing our character, and preparing us for what is ahead.
